Dear WADA Members,
I hope this letter finds you having enjoyed some time off for the holidays with your family and friends. As we begin the New Year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting my candidacy to serve the WADA membership as Vice President, and be on the Executive Board for the next 4 years. It is a tremendous honor and one that I will devote my best efforts to, upholding your trust in my abilities to represent you, and serve the memberships needs through the themes of Faith, Love, and Hope.
As a result of assuming the VP position, I will be stepping aside as the States LTI/Certification Coordinator. After much thought and reflection, I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to hold both positions and to devote the time and effort they each deserve. I have been involved in the State and National LTI and Certification programs for 15 years and have a passion for helping Athletic Administrators continue their journeys in Professional Growth and Development. That has not, nor will ever change. As I begin working with the rest of the WADA Board, I will just have a different platform to champion that cause.
I have had a great assistant in the State LTI and Certification Program for the past 2 years in John Frizzell. He shares the same kind of passion as I for education based athletics, and for helping those involved in it, through the NIAAA Professional Growth and Development programing. John will be assuming the lead role moving forward as Wisconsin’s Coordinator of the LTI and Certification programs. WADA has also posted on the website the position of Assistant State LTI/Certification Coordinator, please see the posting for more details and if you have questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with John or myself.
Finally, as I begin my role as the WADA VP and serving the membership on the Executive Board, please always feel free to reach out to me to share thoughts, ideas, concerns, and items that you think WADA should know about and/or be addressing.
Thank you for all you do for the student athletes in your communities and the state - keep up the G.O.Y.A. (Give Only Your All) efforts!!!
Have a great start to the New Year.
